What is ready for baby in a day?

Ready for Baby in a Day is a one-day intensive where we organize everything you need for your baby’s arrival. You’ll end the day feeling prepared and with a plan for birth, postpartum, and beyond.

How does it work?

Ready for Baby in a Day is done in-person or virtually, and we cover #allthethings. Instead of scrambling to get everything ready in the third trimester, you’ll dedicate one day to getting it all ready to go. That way, you can rest and relax as you prepare for baby. It’ll be a mix of learning, talking, writing plans, and organizing.

What does it include?

It includes all of the information that you receive in a prenatal meeting plus much more. We work together to create your birth preferences and discuss topics like informed consent, advocating for yourself, what you need in your hospital bag, and immediate newborn care.

For your baby, we’ll discuss normal newborn behavior for things like sleep and feeding; we’ll create a plan for efficient routines and baby sleep and feeding. For the birth parent, we’ll cover what to expect physically and emotionally. We’ll make a plan for your mind, body, and identity after baby arrives. For parents and other children, if applicable, we’ll create a plan to help all involved be successful and adjust to the new baby/babies. We also discuss the emotions of parenting and how to handle boundaries, triggers, and develop a parenting style. In your home, we will discuss setting up your nursery, kitchen, bedrooms, and other areas efficiently. If you are interested, we can also cover incorporating eco-friendly, non-toxic practices with your baby and home.

Overall, you’ll end the day with a plan for birth and postpartum and a plan for moving forward.

I’m interested! What are the next steps?

Start here by completing a form. Then we’ll schedule a free consultation where we determine if Ready for Baby in a Day is right for you. If it is, you’ll receive LOTS of information about the program, and we’ll book your Ready for Baby in a Day!

Hi! I'm Gigi; I'm a postpartum doula, mother to three toddlers, including twins, and a wife to my high school sweetheart.

As a former teacher, I bring realistic, evidence-based, and actionable advice (and LOTS of handouts.) I help families get all the tools they need to prepare, so once baby arrives, they can focus on resting and bonding instead of researching or stressing. I’m here to streamline the newborn learning curve and help birth parents, partners, and other family members. There isn’t ONE way to have and raise a little human. I’m here to guide parents to find THEIR way so that they can thrive in the fourth trimester and beyond.
